Spare Mother Monster the “Bad Romance” puns: After spending 5 years together, Lady Gaga and Taylor Kinney are headed for splitsville.
According to People, the longtime couple, who got engaged during last year’s Valentine’s Day, have decided to call it quits earlier this month. It seems like their highly-anticipated wedding just wasn’t meant to be.
So what was the cause of Gaga and her actor fiance’s breakup? Turns out, distance doesn’t make the heart grow fonder. “Their work kept them apart a lot. “Chicago Fire” keeps him in Chicago and her work is almost always elsewhere,” an industry source told the aforementioned publication.
“It’s really sad and [Gaga’s] really torn up. They thought they’d be together forever. They had a good life and a lot in common, but were ultimately too different. I know he was always in Chicago and she went there all the time, but really had to be in L.A. or on tour and it was hard for them to make their schedules work. Distance was definitely a big, big issue,” another source revealed to US Weekly.
Prior to the news of the split, the 30-year-old singer was spotted doing charity work earlier this week in Cabo San Lucas, Mexico. Kinney, on the other hand, was seen celebrating his birthday on 15th July without her.
The former flames first met on the set of Gaga’s “You and I” music video and began dating shortly after that. Regardless of what happened, we wish both of them all the best.
