While this movie season will likely be dominated by blockbuster superhero movies, one of the most beloved classic franchise will be debuting its reboot on the big screen in a few short months.
Ever since the “Ghostbusters” reboot released the first official trailer back in early March, news about the supernatural action-comedy have been slowly flowing in. While we wait for more footage, Sony has unveiled 3 new character posters that feature Kristen Wiig, Kate McKinnon, and Leslie Jones along with their character quotes from the first trailer.
The first poster shows Kristen Wiig as straight-laced and professional character, Erin Gilbert. As the physicist of the group, Erin was seen covered in slime after approaching a library ghost in the trailer. Thus the quote, “That stuff went everywhere, by the way in every crack“. Ew!
Kate McKinnon is featured in the second poster as the sassy and brilliant nuclear engineer Jillian Holtzman. In an interview with Entertainment Weekly, McKinnon discussed getting into the role of Jillian, “She hits close to home for me in that she’s kind of on another planet. She’s joyful and friendly and wants to connect.”
“When I was a kid I was obsessed with science and obsessed with circuit boards and taking apart electronics and learning about transistors, capacitors, and diodes. When I got on the set and it was littered with circuit boards, it felt really close to home. This is me. I’m just playing myself with cooler accessories,” she added.

Last but not least, a screaming Patty Tolan (portrayed by Leslie Jones) is looking a whole lot scarier than the ghosts they’re after. In case you didn’t know, Jones’ role was originally written for Melissa McCarthy.
“Actually, when Katie (Dippold) and I wrote the script, we had written the role with Melissa in mind, but then I thought I’ve seen Melissa play a brash, larger than life character. I wanted to unleash Leslie on the public in the same way we unleashed Melissa on the public in Bridesmaids, with a very showy role,” director Paul Feig told Empire.

Yep, we know what you’re thinking. Why is McCarthy’s Abby Yates character poster missing? Fans can probably expect her poster and a new trailer fairly soon as Sony starts to ramp up their promo for “Ghostbusters”.
The “Ghostbusters” Reboot is slated for release on 15th July 2016.
