If you’re a Marvel fan, you’d know to stay put on your seats and not leave the cinema until after the end credits to find out what’s in store next in regards to the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
“Doctor Strange” will be no different. With Marvel’s next blockbuster slated to hit theatres next month, spoilers about the 2 post credit scenes – a mid credits scene and end credits scene – have hit the internet. There are potentially major spoilers, so read at your own risk.
After defeating his enemies in “Doctor Strange“, Stephen Strange is determined to eradicate Earth of all mystical threats, and that includes a notorious trickster from Asgard. Enters the God of Thunder, Thor. Back at his Sanctum Sanctorum, Thor reveals that he needs Loki’s help in finding their father Odin, who is still missing after the events “Thor: The Dark World”.
The Sorcerer Supreme agrees to help him on one condition: once Thor locates the All-Father and Loki, they must all leave Earth, go back to Asgard, and never return. This will presumably help set up the stage for next year’s “Thor: Ragnarok“.
This scene explains why Chris Hemsworth was spotted holding a card that read 177A Bleecker St. (which is the address of Doctor Strange), a couple of months ago. However, it is not known whether Benedict Cumberbatch will have a cameo in “Thor: Ragnarok”, but it seems possible.
Following the mid credits scene, the post credits scene will see Baron Mordo (Chiwetel Ejiofor) returning to see Jonathan Pangborn (played by Benjamin Bratt). There, Mordo will strip away Pangborn’s mystical powers and steals them, declaring, “There are too many sorcerers“.
Although Mordo was an ally to Strange for most of the movie, he’ll start to resent Stephen Strange after he was named the Sorcerer Supreme by The Ancient One. This will help set up Mordo as the inevitably villain for the “Doctor Strange” sequel. We might even see him teaming up with Thanos for “Avengers: Infinity War“.

Marvel’s “Doctor Strange” will cast a spell on audiences when it hits theatres on 4th November 2016.
