De Bethune Unveils New Versions Of Its DB Eight & We’re Gagged!

Though it’s a relatively young brand in the watchmaking industry, the independent luxury watchmaker De Bethune has been making massive waves with their creations that rival even veteran and luxury horologists’.

Just last year, De Bethune launched its DB Eight wristwatch, a simple but elegant timepiece that further cemented the brand as a worthy addition to the watchmaking market. Now, once again, the Swiss watch manufacturer is revisiting its noteworthy creation and developing two more variations that better complement those who are looking for a sophisticated timepiece but with a splash of colour.

Previously, the DE Eight was only available in a titanium-clad, silver-dial variation with blue hands and a black leather strap. Now, the wristwatch is available in a deep royal blue dial encased in white gold, while the other version has a luxuriously chocolate-hued dial in a yellow gold case.

Though the watch is available in more variations, the design philosophy remains the same. Striking a balance between visibility and aesthetics, the chronograph features a large 42.4mm dial that lets you know the time with one quick glance. Beneath the centre of the watch is another inner dial and a barley grained-60-minute instantaneous minute counter at the 6 o’clock position.

Each cursive Arabic numeral and delicate leaf-shaped hands is carefully crafted to create a sophisticated look, while also echoing their respective case materiality. The watch is 9.2mm thick, with ogival lugs. The entire mechanism is powered by the DB3000 manual-winding movement, which is visible through the open sapphire crystal caseback.

For more information or to get your own DB Eight, visit De Bethune’s official website.
