In a grand celebration of Malaysia’s independence, De.Wan 1958 by Chef Wan has unveiled a special Jiwa Muhibbah set menu that promises to unite Malaysians through a feast of diverse and delectable dishes. The menu, created by the celebrated Chef Wan (Datuk Redzuawan Ismail), is a tribute to the nation’s rich culinary heritage and the spirit of unity that defines Malaysia.

The Jiwa Muhibbah set menu will be available from 15th August to 17th September at all De.Wan 1958 outlets -offering an exclusive opportunity to savour the best of Malaysian cuisine. Among the highlights are:

  • Ikan Siakap Stim Nyonya: This Nyonya-style steamed sea bass is a staple of Peranakan cuisine, known for its fragrant blend of herbs and spices that exemplify the fusion of Malay and Chinese influences.
  • Daging Salai Lemak Cili Padi: Smoked beef simmered in a rich coconut gravy spiced with bird’s eye chillies, showcasing a beloved Malay dish that brings a fiery kick to the table.
  • Crispy Lemon Chicken: This dish features succulent chicken with a crispy exterior and a tangy lemon glaze, representing the fusion of traditional Chinese cooking with modern flavours.
  • Sotong Kari Masala: Squid cooked in a fragrant and spicy curry sauce, reflecting the robust flavours of Indian cuisine that have been embraced into the Malaysian culinary landscape.
  • Tempe Goreng: Fried tempeh, a popular Indonesian staple, seasoned to perfection, highlighting the Indonesian influence within Malaysia’s diverse food scene.

Chef Riz emphasised that the Jiwa Muhibbah set menu is more than just a collection of dishes; it is a celebration of Malaysia’s diverse culinary traditions and the unity that binds its people. “The Jiwa Muhibbah set menu is a reflection of our diverse culinary heritage and the spirit of togetherness that defines Malaysia. Each dish has been thoughtfully selected and crafted alongside our co-founder Chef Wan to celebrate our unique flavours and bring people together in the true essence of ‘muhibbah’ (goodwill),” Chef Riz stated.

The Jiwa Muhibbah set menu aims to be a dining experience that not only delights the palate but also fosters a sense of national pride and connection. By showcasing the best of Malaysia’s diverse food culture, De.Wan 1958 hopes to become the preferred destination for both Malaysians and international visitors looking to experience the pinnacle of Malaysian cuisine during this festive period.
