Caprice Addresses Ustaz Abu Syafiq’s Statement On YouTubers’ “Haram” Income

Muslim preacher Ustaz Abu Syafiq Al-Asy’ary – who had a beef with Datuk Aliff Syukri in the past – made headlines this week after he claimed that income generated through YouTube is haram (illegal), sparking heated debates among social media users.

In addressing his statement on Instagram, Caprice (real name Ariz Ramli) argued that as a religious figure, there are so many other issues that are clearly against Islamic teachings.

“I don’t understand why all of a sudden Ustaz Abu Syafiq is criticising Malaysian YouTubers? Considering your level (as a Muslim preacher), it is better for us to combat gambling, corruption or alcohol. All of the aforementioned are already haram,” Caprice said in the video.

In the clip, the “Abang Nak Tegur” rapper also suggested for Ustaz Abu Syafiq to touch on issues and problems that are more concerning, especially towards today’s generation. He added, “I personally believe that those who are committing in non-halal relationships are definitely more than the amount of YouTubers in the country. Instead of shinning light on pressing issues, you choose to attack YouTubers.”
