BLACKPINK (블랙핑크) member Jisoo (지수) has finally broken her silence regarding her brother’s recent controversy. The idol’s brother, Kim Jung Hun, has made headlines recently for allegations of sexual assault and abuse.
Through her legal representatives, Jisoo released a statement clarifying her connection to her brother’s recent allegations. To recap, earlier this month, news outlets reported that police had arrested the older brother of a popular girl group member on charges of sexually molesting a female broadcast jockey. Netizens speculated that the individual in question was Jisoo’s older brother, who is the CEO of a supplement company.

In the statement, Jisoo’s legal team clarified that Jisoo and her agency have no relation to the recent issue, noting that much of the circulating information consists of unverified speculations and false claims. The statement also argues that the singer isn’t aware or involved in her family members’ private lives, including her brother’s, as she has lived independently from them for many years.
The legal team also clarified Kim Junghun’s ties to the company, stating that he was only involved during the preparatory stages of establishing BLISSOO, providing limited advice. However, Jisoo’s family have never received compensation from her company or participated in the management or decision-making process, thus meaning they have no ties to or involvement in the company’s operations.

Jisoo and her agency also denied claims that they provided financial and legal support to her brother, adding that they have no plans to do so in the future. The legal team also stated that it would take legal action against the continued dissemination of false information and defamatory claims against Jisoo, including the creation of content based on unverified or speculative information.
Fans have previously urged Jisoo to clarify her stance on her brother’s controversy, given the severe allegations. Now that she has released a formal statement, we hope her name won’t be tied to the matter anymore.
