BLACKPINK (블랙핑크) member Jisoo (지수) recently made her Met Gala debut, stepping on the red carpet in a stunning pink floral number custom-made by Dior. However, amid the excitement about her first Met Gala, a damning accusation emerged towards her and her styling team.
Earlier this week, Antwerp-based designer Benjamin Voortmans shared a video accusing Jisoo and her styling team of stealing some items from their Judassime brand. In the now-deleted video, the designer explained that they previously loaned a few items from the brand’s latest collection to the singer’s styling team for an album cover shoot. However, the shoot kept getting delayed, meaning the team continued to hold on to the items.

Benjamin said they loaned the items approximately six months ago, but the team never made it clear when they would return them. The designer lamented the lack of communication from Jisoo’s team, saying they’ve remained silent on the matter even after Benjamin continued to send them invoices and contracts. They also mentioned that they want the items back as they’re important pieces to the brand and were costly to create.
The post later went viral and sparked heated discussions about Jisoo and her team. Shockingly, several other designers alleged that they shared similar experiences, accusing the idol’s styling team of withholding loaned pieces for undetermined periods. Many fans and netizens expressed disappointment towards the team’s irresponsible actions and called for them to be held accountable.

Thankfully, it seems that there’s a positive update to the situation. In their latest video, Benjamin revealed that Jisoo’s team has reached out to them and shared an update on the loaned pieces. As both parties are working out the issue, the designer also urged netizens not to attack the “Earthquake” singer, noting that she likely had no involvement in the situation, since they only dealt with her styling team.
We’re glad that everything is getting resolved, and we hope the situation will end fairly for Benjamin. However, this situation sparked the debate of K-Pop agencies seemingly taking advantage of designers, especially smaller ones.
