Two years have passed since the heartbreaking loss of ASTRO (아스트로) Moonbin (문빈), a tragedy that deeply shook AROHA (ASTRO fans) and the entire K-pop industry. The beloved idol, who passed away at the young age of 25, reportedly took his own life, leaving behind a wave of sorrow that continues to ripple through fans, friends, and fellow artists. Even now, the grief remains heavy.
In honour of Moonbin, his group ASTRO is set to release a heartfelt memorial song. On Thursday, 17th April 2025, ASTRO’s official YouTube channel released the teaser for the tribute song called “꿈속의 문(Moon) : Memory of the Moon”. The single is set for release on 19th April 2025 (Saturday) and features various artists, including ASTRO, VIVIZ, MONSTA X, SEVENTEEN, HELLO GLOOM, Stray Kids and many more. Moonbin’s sister, Billlie’s sister Moon Sua, will also participate in the track.

The song is a created by Moonbin’s fellow colleagues and friends, in hopes that it would be a comforting gift to fans who remember and love the late idol. While the song serves as a tribute aimed to celebrate Moonbin’s legacy, fans have shown mixed reactions to the soon-to-release track.
An online community post garnered over 60,000 views, as netizens expressed concern that the members were being used for profit. They argued that creating and promoting a new song under the late idol’s name could be seen as disrespectful. They also voiced discomfort at the idea of being associated with an image that, in their view, risks being commercialised, rather than remembered with sincerity.
On the other hand, many fans have come forward to defend the group, stating that all those featured in the song were genuinely close to Moonbin and have every right to honour him in their own way. Many AROHA have shared that they’ve been waiting for something like this as a tribute that allows them to continue remembering and cherishing Moonbin’s legacy through music. What do you think?
