#AntMan: New TV Spot & Posters Show Connection To Avengers

by Bilian
June 12, 2015

“I think our first move should be calling the Avengers.”

Marvel has released a new TV spot for “Ant-Man“, which at last holds some link to the Marvel Cinematic Universe. But if you think the mention in the video was too subtle, the posters are here to justify the affiliation.

Excluding the mention of The Avengers, the TV spot does not pack anything new, as the scenes were already featured in the 1st official trailer that was released last April. Still, the TV spot is worth a watch, if not for the Avengers name drop, then to relive the funny moments from the trailer. However, we assure you that the posters will hold your interest, as they come with the catchy and shrewd subtitle, “No shield. No armour. No problem.”

Paul Rudd will be taking up the titular role of Scott Lang/Ant-Man and Michael Douglas will be playing his mentor Dr. Hank Pym. Lang’s love interest will transpire in the character of Hope Van Dyne, who is played by Evangeline Lilly, while the main antagonist will take the form of another miniature character named Yellowjacket/Darren Cross, who is played by Corey Stoll. Additional casts include Bobby Cannavale as Paxton, Michael Pena as Luis, Tip “T.I” Harris as Dave, Wood Harris as Gale, Judy Greer as Maggie, and David Dastmalchian as Kurt.

The official synopsis is as follows:

The next evolution of the Marvel Cinematic Universe brings a founding member of The Avengers to the big screen for the 1st time with Marvel Studios’ “Ant-Man.” Armed with the astonishing ability to shrink in scale but increase in strength, master thief Scott Lang must embrace his inner hero and help his mentor, Dr. Hank Pym, protect the secret behind his spectacular Ant-Man suit from a new generation of towering threats. Against seemingly insurmountable obstacles, Pym and Lang must plan and pull off a heist that will save the world.

Director Peyton Reed is helming the production, with Kevin Feige overseeing the project. The movie is based on the story by Edgar Wright and Joe Cornish, who also wrote the screenplay alongside Adam McKay and Paul Rudd. Louis D’Esposito, Alan Fine, Victoria Alonso, Michael Grillo, Stan Lee and Edgar Wright will be serving as executive producers.

Marvel’s “Ant-Man” will be released in cinemas on 16th July 2015.
