Many are still mourning the loss of local singer Queenzy Cheng (莊群施) after it was revealed on 28th November, especially with how abruptly her passing had been. However, no one is more devastated than her family.
Family and friends have recently dropped by Queenzy Cheng’s wake to say their final farewells, including her former girl group M-Girls (四个女生) members. But, Queenzy’s mom is still struggling with the loss of her daughter and recently shared the late singer had intended to get married.
Queenzy Cheng had been seeing someone prior to her passing, and they had been dating for several years. According to her mother, her boyfriend has always accompanied and protected Queenzy. She claimed he was a blessing to her. The singer’s mom later shared that she had already recognised and accepted Queenzy’s boyfriend as her son-in-law, they only needed to marry to make it official.
Her father too had been urging Queenzy to tie the knot as she is the only child among their five who has yet to marry. He reportedly also approved of Queenzy’s chosen partner as he was filial and looked after him and his wife well. But, when her dad spoke to her about it last month, she had reportedly assured him that she had her own arrangements and asked him not to worry.
Queenzy’s mom later added that the late singer had actually made plans to get married. “The two of them originally planned to get married next year, but because of their status as entertainers, they did not announce it to the public before the matter was finalized. Everything was kept low-key,” she reportedly said.
Regretfully, Queenzy’s boyfriend had been away on a business trip on the day of her passing. He was, however, made aware that something was wrong when he was contacted and asked about Queenzy’s medical records. Unfortunately, she passed away not long after.
Queenzy Cheng will be laid to rest on 2nd December, as was announced on her socials. We respectfully pray for her passing and hope her family will find peace in their loss.
