Malaysia is currently at its worst level of the Covid-19 pandemic after reporting 691 new cases yesterday (Tuesday, 6th October). Malaysiakini reported that 2,936 Covid-19 patients are seeking treatment at the moment.
We’ve also received confirmation of new Covid-19 cases from Damansara Heights, Jalan Pudu, as well as Taman Daya. This comes after 2 malls in Petaling Jaya confirmed that its staffs had contracted the virus.
1. Huckleberry Damansara Heights
Huckleberry Hospitability Group released a statement to its patrons that a kitchen helper had tested positive for Covid-19 after failing to report for work on 1st October. “The said staff has not been on the premise since 30 September 2020, nor has he been in contact with any other colleagues during this time. His case is a locally transmitted one after being in contact with a friend who subsequently tested positive,” the management informed.
2. Tung Shin Hospital, Jalan Pudu
5 patients tested positive yesterday at Tung Shin Hospital, and have since been transferred to the Sungai Buloh Hospital for further treatment. “Risk stratification was also conducted on all medical staff who came into contact with the five positive cases. The majority of the staff are in the low-risk group,” the statement added. Terminal and through cleaning were carried out at affected areas and operations will resume as usual.
3. Clinic Century in Taman Daya, Johor
The Johor Health Department recently confirmed that 2 patients who visited Clinic Century in Taman Daya have tested positive for Covid-19. A letter from the management informed that the clinic will be closed for a week – up until 14th October.
