We’re a sucker for classics and the ASICS Gel-Lyte III fits right in our wheelhouse.
Released a few months ago, the Gel-Lyte III bears almost the same design as the previously revealed ASICS GEL-Lyte III “Modern Tokyo Pack” – modelling itself after the iconic Shibuya crossing.
Here are some of the reasons why we love the Gel-Lyte III sneaker:
- While some may think it’s a bit extra, we’re really vibing with the exaggerated, aerodynamic midsole. It’s an eye-catching addition at first glance.
- It’s also eye pleasing to see how the black contrast against the toe cap, heel, and the second coat – giving it a more futuristic look while still maintaining minimalistic.
- As with sneakers under the ASICS GEL category, the Gel-Lyte III offers effective cushioning thanks to the Flytefoam technology in the midsole.
- The upper construction with primarily no-sew overlays and an asymmetrical lacing system also help reduce forefoot irritation.
- Last but not least, the lightweight build definitely still holds its own against other competitors in the market.

Just last week, ASICS announced that that it will be debuting its very own face mask that is super breathable. Called the ASICS Runners Face Cover, it is build with sports junkies in mind – allowing runners to breathe comfortably while running at high speed.
The 5 highlights of the product are:
- Interior Space – The unique curved structure creates more room inside the face cover to allow easier breathing when running.
- Strategically Placed Air Vents – Air vents innovatively placed on the face cover provide unobstructed airflow while preventing the spread of droplets.
- Quick-drying, Washable Fabric – Cutting-edge material cools the air flowing into the mouth, improving breathability and comfort. The water repellent, washable fabric makes cleaning easier.
- Comfort Fit – Specifically designed to accommodate a wide range of face shapes with an adjustable cord to ensure it fits while also helping to prevent building up of fog when wearing glasses.
- Sustainable Design – Produced with approximately 31% recycled materials.
The new ASICS Runners Face Cover will debut globally around mid-September and will be available in Malaysia from mid-November onwards at a retail price of RM169.
