Oh man, Seungri (real name Lee Seung-hyun; 이승현) seems to be on a roll here. The BIGBANG maknae announced that he’ll be holding a solo tour in Singapore next year.
This news comes when he was in our neighbouring country for the Braun Büffel’s Spring/Summer 2019 launch event. The singer, who turns 28 this coming Wednesday (12th December), was also surprised with an early birthday celebration.

The K-pop star debuted his solo album, “The Great Seungri”, earlier in July this year. Besides his 2 sold out concerts in Seoul, the entertainer was even in Malaysia to perform at the “X Infinity World Music Showcase 2018” in Genting International Convention Centre, Genting Highland, during Halloween.
“I’ll be going through Southeast Asia, and the US. I just want to say hi to all my fans worldwide. So I’m planning to do that until March. Of course, I’ll be coming to Singapore too,” Seungri was quoted as saying.
When asked about the meaning behind his album title “The Great Seungri”, the singer explained, it translates to “glorious victory” in Korean. “It means I’ve made it. Like finally, I’m growing up – (in terms of) my music and my personality,” he elaborated.
During his recent trip in Singapore, Seungri actually had an interesting encounter with a taxi driver. When he caught the driver singing BigBang’s 2015 hit, “Bang Bang Bang”, he proceeded to ask, “‘How do you know this song?’, and he said, ‘I don’t know, it’s by some K-pop artist, but I love this song’,” he recalled.
“(So I asked), ‘Do you know how many members are in this group?’ And he said, ‘Maybe 2 or 3’. That was so funny. I couldn’t tell him that that song was my song,” the K-pop star added.
Seungri’s fellow BigBang members – T.O.P, G-Dragon, Daesung and Taeyang – are currently carrying out their mandatory Korean military service. Seungri is expected to enlist next year. But not before he brings his solo tour to Singapore “sometime in February or March”.
Fingers crossed he’ll drop by Malaysia again. K-pop fans here will be ready to welcome him with open arms 😉
