The Department of Statistics Malaysia has revealed that Sarawak has the highest life expectancy in Malaysia.
According to the statistics, the average life expectancy for Sarakwakian men is 75.1 years while the state’s women could live up to 78.6 years. Meanwhile, Terengganu recorded the lowest life expectancy at birth for both male and female.
The statistics show that Malaysians can expect to live up to 74.8 years in 2017, compared with 74.3 years in 2011 (wow, that’s an increase of 0.5 years!). And that’s not all, Malaysian-Chinese are living longer than bumiputeras and Indians.
It was reported that Chinese men live up to 75 years whereas Chinese women live up to 80.2 years. Furthermore, the life expectancy for bumiputeras is 71.4 years and 76.2 years for male and female respectively; while Indian men and women can expect to live up to 67.8 years and 76.3 years respectively.

In other news, the people of Hong Kong have the highest life expectancy in the world, surpassing Japan’s men and women for the 2nd consecutive year.
