NICKTHEREAL (周湯豪) recently concluded his concert in Singapore and is prepping to entertain Malaysian fans this weekend at Zepp Kuala Lumpur before his Macao pitstop. His REALIVE World Tour has delivered an unparalleled audiovisual extravaganza to his adoring fans.
Held in Capitol Theatre, NICKTHEREAL took center stage in a sleek black sportswear ensemble. The concert kick-off with the song ‘GOOD LIFE’ and the atmosphere ignited instantaneously, with lightsticks swirling amidst the crowd, amplifying the excitement. With the inclusion of two male dancers, the performance was injected with dynamism, immersing the audience in an enthralling experience.
A medley of opening dance tracks, including ‘SNG,’ ‘All these girl,’ ‘I Go,’ and ‘Level Up,’ elevated the ambiance to euphoric heights, punctuated by resounding cheers throughout the venue. NICKTHEREAL expressed his eager anticipation for his return to Singapore after seven years since his last solo concert, vowing a “no-holds-barred” performance.
NICKTHEREAL also introduced his new track, ‘I know I can,’ inspired by his personal experiences. The lyrics mentioned “Given the opportunity bestowed by the heavens, I’ll persevere through any wait, setting my aspirations far, with an unwavering soul’, epitomise his steadfast determination in the face of adversity. Bathed in the soft, radiant glow of orange light, the stage narrative behind the song was further accentuated, captivating the audience. The following track, ‘I’m the man’ originated from his performance at ‘The Rap of China’. The song showcased NICKTHEREAL’s rap prowess, culminating in a crescendo of energy.
Resplendently donned in a regal purple suit, NICKTHEREAL revealed that, “While producing the REALIVE album, I encountered numerous obstacles. Yet, I urge everyone to embrace authenticity, stay genuine, and remember, whenever you need, my music will be here for you“. Acknowledging the arduous journey, he said “On nights I feel sad and unmotivated, I read the letters from everyone of you. Thank you for the unwavering support’, as he wipes the tears at the corner of his eyes.
The following song, ‘Thanks for the love’ served as an earnest testament to his appreciation for his fans, featuring photos and videos of him and them from various events. To further enhance the concert experience, NICKTHEREAL also came down the stage and had up-close interaction with fans, showing them his appreciation.
In a lighthearted moment, NICKTHEREAL humorously queried the countries that his fans came from. Much to the delight of all present, crowd responded ‘从你心里来’ (‘From your heart’). Embracing a playful demeanor, he also attempted Singlish and shared that he had indulged in Hainanese chicken rice for the past six meals during his stay in Singapore. Upon jesting about his allergy to chili crabs, the crowd collectively chuckled, to which he jovially retorted, “What’s wrong with not eating chili crabs?!” eliciting uproarious laughter.
NICKTHEREAL showcased an array of hits including ‘走三关,’ ‘GET REAL,’ ‘Turn Up,’ and ‘你是我的菜,’ while fans perpetuated the tradition of tossing bra onto the stage. The last song before the encore, he once again got down the stage alongside dancers and threw his used towel to the crowd, much to the fans delight.
Concluding the unforgettable evening, NICKTHEREAL extended heartfelt gratitude to all who aided and supported him, notably his mother, Bille, who eagerly waved her lightsticks from the audience.
In the days leading up to the Singapore tour, he also explored the Gardens by the Bay, and praised that Singapore is truly a garden city. He also took to Instagram to convey the profound significance of the REALIVE tour, crafted with blood and tears, as a vessel for expressing love.
