3 New Drops From Casio, Orient & Ressence Are Living In Our Heads Rent-Free

The year is ending, and what better way to end it than with a bang? Which is why these three brands are dropping their hottest timekeepers just in time for the gift-giving season.

From an expressive, durable everyday watch to a sleek minimalist piece that’s the embodiment of elegance – check out the biggest watch drops that will round out the year.

Casio G-SHOCK “Lambang Kebanggaan” DW-5600SFC24-4

Casio has officially unveiled its inaugural collaboration with Selangor Football Club (SFC) – the “Lambang Kebanggaan” DW-5600SFC24-4. Since becoming the official timekeeper for the club in 2023, CASIO G-SHOCK has further strengthened its partnership by introducing this limited-edition timepiece to commemorate the partnership and express continued support for the national team.

The name “Lambang Kebanggaan,” meaning “Symbol of Pride,” is inspired by SFC’s motto, “Merah Kuning Lambang Kebanggaan” which represents the club’s crest. This emblem brings together players, coaches, fans, management, and staff, symbolising unity, pride, and a shared sense of community that defines The Red Giants.

Drawing inspiration from the proud legacy of SFC, the collaboration model incorporates the club’s iconic red and yellow colours. These hues, reflecting the Selangor state flag, are rich in symbolic meaning: red stands for strength, passion, and boldness—qualities that have come to define SFC, showcased season after season in their home kits. Yellow, on the other hand, symbolises royalty, wisdom, and majesty, echoing Selangor’s Royal heritage. The vibrant red and yellow accents on the DW-5600 not only enhance the watch’s bold design but also capture the spirit of both G-SHOCK and Selangor FC’s enduring toughness.

Our New Timepiece Boo: Bell & Ross BR 03 DIVER Watch Range

Limited to just 1,000 pieces in Malaysia, this collaboration model strengthens the connection between fans of both Casio and Selangor FC through its distinctive design. The colour scheme and Selangor FC emblem are prominently featured on the special packaging, which includes a watch box and a drawstring bag, all adorned with the G-SHOCK logo.

Orient 20th Anniversary Limited Edition Mako

Orient’s Mako models are an important part of Orient’s history and have represented everything that the brand stands for since their launch in the 1960s. This series has a dolphin icon engraved on the case back and is affectionately known as Orient Mako. Since its launch in 2004, the model has been released in a wide variety of dial colours and details. Since April 2023, the lineup includes solar-powered chronograph models alongside the existing mechanical watches. They are powered by converting energy obtained from sunlight and other light sources into electrical energy, so there is no need to replace batteries on a regular basis. This makes them convenient for daily use and outdoor activities when the chronograph function is used.

A highlight feature of the limited-edition 20th anniversary model is the blue gradation from 12 o’clock to 6 o’clock representing the beautiful ocean surrounding Japan, while the dial’s stamped wave pattern, coupled with the words “Anniversary Edition” at 4 o’clock and spectacular gold-coloured hands, highlight the celebratory feel of the 20th anniversary model.

The unidirectional rotating bezel with six grooves common to all Orient Mako models, is coupled with a two-toned blue and black aluminium plate with the colours separating at the triangular and 20-minute markers for the anniversary model.

Solar battery charging is achieved through three subdials; a 24-hour indicator at 3 o’clock, a 60-minute counter at 6 o’clock, and a small second subdial at 9 o’clock. An Arabic numeral inspired by the first Orient Mako model adorns the 12 o’clock position, and Luminous Light is used for the numeral, indices and hands, allowing the time to be read even in the dark.

The dial with metallic texture comes in three colours: the 20th anniversary model’s blue gradation, as well as sky blue and red. All three colours come with black subdials, and each of the colourways enhances the sporty design that characterises chronograph watches. The glass is made of sapphire crystal for scratch-resistance, and the screw down crown and case back offer high water resistance to 20 bar.

The 20th anniversary Orient Mako model with chronograph functions is available in a limited edition of 3,000 pieces. For more information, visit Orient’s official website.

Ressence TYPE 9 Aqua & Grey

Walk, walk, cross, cross, walk, twist, and dip. Here it is, in all its shine: the new TYPE 9 duet, dancing in sensual rhythm. The atmosphere hums with vibrant energy. The connection is palpable. Both watches smoothly move with grace, intertwined, in perfect harmony.

Ressence is giving the floor to a new creation: the TYPE 9, introduced for the first time in two colours — a warm Grey and a fresh Aqua. These shades accompany a pivotal evolution: the brand’s very first 39mm watch, a refined leap in case design.

Building on the minimalist principles and proven technology of the TYPE 8, the TYPE 9 revisits its codes, refining both its size and horological details. At the heart of this creation is the ROCS 9 module, housed in a reimagined polished titanium case. Its design echoes the gentle flow of a wave, striking a perfect balance between strength and fluidity — much like a tango.

Maurice Lacroix's The 1975 Collection Marks 50 Years Of On Point Timekeeping

For the first time in a Ressence, the Minute indicator is placed outside the dial, with a fixed bezel featuring engraved indexes, giving the watch an even more compact appearance. The circled finish on both the bezel and Hour ring add refinement, while the lugs subtly nod to classic watchmaking — all contributing to an elegant and sophisticated design.

The TYPE 9 Grey is available worldwide through Ressence’s official retailer network. The TYPE 9 Aqua will follow in February 2025
