Achieving global success is no easy feat, so it’s exciting to see a Malaysian-born celebrity on the cover of an international magazine—or even simply featured in an issue. Whether flipping through the pages or scrolling through Instagram, no one expected comedian Nigel Ng, also known as Uncle Roger, to be featured in the latest issue of Vogue Taiwan.
Earlier this week, the renowned fashion publication posted a carousel of engagement photos featuring Nigel and his fiancée, Sabrina, on Instagram. According to the caption, the photoshoot took place at several locations across Taipei. Let’s take a look:

The set of photos showcases the soon-to-be-married couple posing in various spots around the Ximending district and Huaxi Street Night Market, wearing casual and simple wedding attire. Nigel and Sabrina are seen enjoying local Taiwanese delicacies and desserts, as well as trying their hand at arcade games. True to his comedic style, there’s also a photo of them posing in front of a sex toy shop, with Sabrina giving a disapproving look.
The photos were taken by photographer Karen Kao, who was personally hired by the Kuala Lumpur-born entertainer. “Thank you, @karren_kao, for bringing our vision to life and being so supportive throughout the process (even going shopping with us to find outfits and comforting me while I cried in the bridal shop 😂). As an artist and friend, we couldn’t have done it without you and your team ❤️,” the 34-year-old wrote on his Instagram. It didn’t take long for fans to react to the photos after they were published.

Many Taiwanese fans were surprised to see Nigel and his fiancée featured in Vogue Taiwan, with commenters praising how beautiful the couple looked in the photos. Some congratulated the comedian and Sabrina on their engagement, while others—unaware of his relationship—wondered if Sabrina was the inspiration for Uncle Roger’s ex-wife, Auntie Helen. Malaysian fans also jokingly asked if Jamie Oliver would be invited to the wedding ceremony.
Speaking of the ceremony, Nigel has yet to announce further details about the wedding, but it’s likely to be a private, intimate event with only close friends and relatives in attendance. We’re looking forward to seeing the official wedding photos once the couple tie the knot.
