Handling a tour service isn’t easy, especially when dealing with a large group. However, many customers will still expect professionalism, which is why this Malaysian was mad when South Korea-based influencer Kim Seri couldn’t provide the service she promised.
The Malaysian woman, Siti Nur Hiqmah, recently took to Threads to share her experience dealing with Kim Seri for her company trip to South Korea. For those unaware, Kim Seri is an entrepreneur who started as an influencer sharing her life as a Malaysian living in South Korea. After opening a halal restaurant in Seoul, she started a travel agency that offers tours around the country.
In her first post shared on 7th December 2024 (Saturday), Siti called out Kim Seri, revealing that she and her colleagues were due to fly to South Korea this week but, at the time, had yet to receive their flight tickets from the influencer. She then explained the issue, revealing that her boss paid over RM110,000 in October for Kim Seri to handle the group’s flight on Malaysia Airlines, as they weren’t keen on flying Kim Seri’s choice of airline.
Unfortunately, Siti said the group never received their flight details until two days before they were expected to fly. Adding to their frustration, the Malaysian said Kim Seri admitted to not having enough money to purchase tickets on Malaysia Airlines and had asked the group to use another airline. Kim Seri also allegedly asked the group to reschedule their trip, prompting another rant from Siti.
After getting threatened with legal action, Kim Seri finally provided flight tickets for Siti and her colleagues. Unfortunately, some didn’t receive their return tickets until they reached Seoul. In addition, the group faced another issue with their itinerary, where they discovered an attraction included in the plan was closed as they reached the venue. The group also faced problems with their accommodation as Kim Seri had made multiple changes to their hotel until the last minute.
As of writing, the group is still in South Korea, but Siti mentioned that she would continue to share updates on the tour. Meanwhile, many netizens have shared their reaction to the story, showing disappointment towards Kim Seri for being irresponsible. Some also noted that this isn’t the first time the influencer has caused problems with her tour service, urging others to stop supporting her business.
The issue has gone viral amongst locals, but Kim Seri has yet to respond to Siti’s claims. Whatever happens, we hope Siti and her colleagues will have a safe trip. What are your thoughts on this?
