In the world of luxury timepiece brands, TAG Heuer stands at the top as an exceptional Swiss watchmaking name.
From intricately-crafted designs to precision timekeeping, the brand’s name is synonymous with excellence, which is why its latest collaboration with Porsche is a no-brainer.
Once again, the two brands have joined forces to bring you the limited-edition TAG Heuer Carrera Chronograph Tourbillon x Porsche Panamericana. For the uninitiated, the Carrera Panamericana is a legendary race in motorsports that spans more than 3,000 kilometres across Mexico. The design of this new watch was influenced by Porsche’s involvement in the 1954 race, when the Porsche 550 Spyder won notable races.
The TAG Heuer Carrera Chronograph Tourbillon x Porsche Panamericana honours this heritage by incorporating design cues from the 550 Spyder.
The watch is notable for its 42mm stainless steel case, which has a polished and fine-brushed finish. The “Spyder” logo is engraved on the side of the case.
Its skeleton dial features a silver, yellow, and black colour scheme that is reminiscent of the wheels of the Porsche 550 Spyder. A hint of racing authenticity is added by the dial’s grained effect, which represents the texture of asphalt.
Powering this timepiece is the in-house TH20-09 tourbillon movement, which offers a 65-hour power reserve. One distinctive element that highlights the watch’s automotive inspiration is the Porsche steering wheel mass, which is visible through the sapphire caseback.
A black perforated calfskin leather strap completes the design, which is further accentuated by yellow stitching and a sporty look.
There are only 255 units available globally, each priced at CHF35,000 (~RM174,171). The TAG Heuer Carrera Chronograph Tourbillon x Porsche Panamericana will be available for purchase later this month via TAG’s official website and authorised retailers.
