The MTV Video Music Awards (VMAs) is back for its 2024 edition and all the stars shone brightly at the award show held in New York. However, for BLINKs all over the world, their eyes were on the one and only, Lisa!
Ever since the BLACKPINK member was announced as one of the 2024 VMAs performers, fans and critics alike have been on the edge of their seats waiting to see the show Lalisa Manoban (리사)/(ลิซ่า) would put on. As expected, she did not disappoint. So take a look at how the attractive Thai KPOP artist slayed the VMAs:
The Fashion
The lovely singer showed up on the red carpet, looking stunning wearing her corset champagne-coloured gown. The top was full of sheer detailing and shimmering sequined gold embellishment, which accentuated her porcelain skin. The actual dress that she wore on top of the corset as one piece, included gloves that fully concealed her arms and a hood.
Given Lisa’s known extroversion, it is not shocking that she struck up conversations with various Hollywood celebrities. Halsey‘s enthusiasm for Lisa’s performance was evident in some of her known encounters. Apart from that, what stood out was Tyla welcoming Lisa after her rock star performance and Paris Hilton introducing Lisa beforehand.
Killer Performance
The 27-year-old Thai singer and rapper then took to the stage for her first solo performance at the VMAs. Decked out in an all-red outfit, the singer kicked off a two-song medley with her recent single, “New Woman”, which was a duet with Spanish singer-songwriter Rosalía. During her performance, Lisa showed off her dance skills and vocal range, incorporating matching red chairs to her stage. Lisa then quickly transitioned into her hit summer single, “Rockstar.”
Winner Winner Chicken Dinner
Lisa also was nominated for a total of four awards at this year’s VMAs – “Best K-pop”, “Best Choreography”, “Best Art Direction” and “Best Editing” for her single “ROCKSTAR.” The chart-topping singer bagged the award for “Best K-pop” and in her winning speech, she said, “Rockstar was a meaningful comeback for me after Lalisa, so this is very-very special to me.” She also extended her gratitude to BLINKs worldwide for their support.
From her performance, looks, and interactions, Lisa is the K-pop goddess at the VMA. Her intense performance will be remembered as one of the best K-pop performance in VMAs 2024 and her win is yet another proof of the singer’s immense talent. What is your favourite Lisa moment at the VMAs?
