Actress Haneesya Hanee has always been vocal in expressing her opinions about those who would downgrade dark-skinned individuals. Unfortunately, she can’t seem to catch a break and has to call out another rude netizen who left an uncalled-for comment about her skin tone.
Yesterday (Thursday, 6th June), Haneesya Hanee posted a TikTok video to respond to a netizen who left a comment on one of her videos saying, “Do you think men like girls with dark skin?”. The former Dewi Remaja contestant obviously was not having it and decided to call out the rude individual for his discrimination. In her response, she mockingly asked similar questions to the man.

“Do you think I like men who judge other women? Do you think I like men who would insult God’s creations? I can go on if I want to. I want you guys to know that I do read your comments and for the most part, it’s fun, do whatever you like. However, I want to remind everyone that, although I understand many of you were upset with my character Sally yesterday, I’m not Sally,” she said.
Apparently, what prompted the man to leave the rude comment was what Haneesya’s character Sally did in the latest episode of “Aku Bukan Ustazah” that aired yesterday. In the series, the 24-year-old plays the role of an antagonist who tries to convince her best friend to allow her to be her husband’s second wife.
Although she felt the rude remark was definitely uncalled for, she still found it humorous how a fictional character could bring out the worst in people. “If you do want to insult me, please your brain. Try to enjoy the series, learn from it and have fun rather than saying hurtful things like this man right here,” she said while pointing at the netizen’s comment.
@haneesyahanee_ Replying to @PakMunawir sabar la nyahhhhhh
Thankfully, Haneesya wasn’t all that bothered by the man’s comment. However, the actress did admit to being bothered actually by the particular scenes she filmed for the TV3 series. In an interview with Berita Harian, the star revealed that she was extremely worried about people’s reactions to scenes of her character partying at nightclubs. This is due to her trauma of receiving backlash after her title as “Dewi Remaja” was withdrawn in 2019.
“They say that to become an actress, you need to be thick-skinned but they don’t know what it’s actually like. You’re lying to yourself if heavy criticism doesn’t affect you negatively in any way,” she said. This goes to show that some viewers really need to learn to differentiate between fiction and reality so that they don’t go after the wrong people. Let’s hope that Haneesya won’t get into any trouble for any of her scenes.
