18-year-old Haneesya Hani or real name Sharifah Haneesya Sayed Sahlan has been stripped off her “Dewi Remaja” title after organisers discover that she had broken the rules and clauses of her contract.
This is the first time in 10 years that the beauty contest has ever take back the title of “Dewi Remaja” from its winner. Haneesya has returned her crown and prizes to the NU Ideaktiv Sdn. Bhd, brand owner of Dewi Remaja earlier this afternoon.
“As the founder and organiser, we are saddened by what has happened. But at the same time, the contestants of Dewi Remaja are aware of the participation terms as stated in the contract in which, ‘they are not allowed to show misconduct in public,” said the editor of Majalah Remaja, Faiz Aimman.
According to Faiz, apart from Haneesya, 2 other finalists of “Dewi Remaja”, Faizni Fazreen Fazeera Faizul and Erni Nurshahira Khairul Nizam are not allowed to use the “Dewi Remaja finalist” title to promote themselves in the future.

The organisers have also confirmed that there will be no winner for “Dewi Remaja” 2018/2019 edition, and Tia Sarah will remain as 1st-runner up in the contest and will be representing “Dewi Remaja” for any activities and events alongside other winners such as Aween Ismail, Arena Iman and others.
Addressing the issue, Haneesya admitted that she truly regrets her action and she hopes that netizens will not criticise her mother.
“Everything that has happened is due to my own responsibility. No one is perfect, and I shall carry this imperfectness. I hope I will be given a second chance,” Haneesya told Majalah Remaja.
