Among all the accessories we wear, watches have seen the biggest change from simple gears and knobs to an all-electric and touchscreen design. However, last April, the independent horologer, H. Moser & Cie, introduced a simpler, more elegant redesign of the staple accessory for those people who’d like their attire to do all the talking.
The Swiss luxury watch manufacturer has just unveiled another model to an already existing collection, the Streamliner Perpetual Calendar Concept Smoked Salmon. The new reference has a dial design that not only highlights the exquisite fumé dial, but also provides a minimalist interface for the perpetual calendar function.
The watch face features no hour markers or anything that would catch your eye. However, it is because of this that the watch exudes a sort of hypnotising appeal; it goes against the traditional noise we are accustomed to in modern watches today.
The elements that are present on the watch are a few functional embellishments. These comprise a punch-out hole for date that is located at the 4 o’clock position, a power reserve indicator at 10 o’clock, a small red hand located at the centre of the dial to indicate the months, and a Globolight® incorporated handset.
Though it hardly has any striking or imposing elements, it is this ingenious minimalistic design that allows you to know the time, date, and month of the year at a single glance. Measuring 42.3mm in width, the watch is encased in a stainless steel body with an integrated metal bracelet, making it the perfect addition to any formal or casual wear.
At the back half of the watch, you can see the inner workings of the timepiece through a glass, giving you a glimpse of what makes this elegant device tick. However, it does more than just look pretty. The Streamliner Perpetual Calendar Concept Smoked Salmon is water-resistant to up to 12 atmospheres of pressure and has a 168-hour power reserve, so you can wear it under water, at a soirée, or everything in between.
If you are interested in this one-of-a-kind timepiece, then there’s no better time to get it than the present, as it only has a one-year production cycle.
A limited-run art piece like this requires time, which is why H. Moser & Cie will only be allocating a one-year development cycle. These watches are made to order, so reserving your piece is important.
The Streamliner Perpetual Calendar Concept Smoked Salmon is available now at H. Moser & Cie’s official website for US$54,900 (~RM259,594).
