Most believe in minding their own business. But, sometimes, you can’t help but observe. For actress Brigitte Lin (林青霞), she’s apparently been seeing some red flags in singer-songwriter Steven Liu Chia-Chang (刘家昌) and fellow actress Chang Chia-Chen (章家珍)’s relationship.
Just last week, Steven Liu exposed his wife Chang Chia-Chen aka Chen Chen (甄珍) and their son Jeremy Liu (章立衡) over some alleged misdeeds. But, as it turns out, Brigitte Lin’s book “云去云来” shed quite a different light on their relationship.
Brigitte Lin and the 75-year-old actress have formed a fairly close bond over the years. Along the way, she’s been privy to a insider’s view of Chia-Chen and Steven Liu’s interactions, and it has left her less than impressed with Steven’s actions towards Chia-Chen. It has even prompted Brigitte to reportedly ask, “How could you treat her that way?”
The 68-year-old actress claimed she once saw Chia-Chen and Steven on a bus at the Kai Tak Airport in Hong Kong. Steven had gotten on empty-handed while Chia-Chen was carrying several bags of varying sizes. The scene puzzled her as she wondered how Steven could simply let Chia-Chen carrying the bags by herself without helping her.
She added that when they shared a meal together, she noticed Chia-Chen peeling shrimps for Steven, like it was expected of her. She would peel off the shell, pass it to him and Steven would eat it. Coincidently, both Wang Xiaofei (汪小菲) and Ai Fukuhara (福原 愛) also peeled prawns for their ex-partners Barbie Hsu (徐熙媛) and Chiang Hung-Chieh (江宏杰) respectively and later divorced.
Reportedly, Brigitte has always found Chia-Chen to be “gentle, kind, respectful, thrifty and generous”, sharing examples of the 75-year-old actress being considerate when riding in a car with others, and being self-confident in her body size and shape.
Brigitte Lin apparently genuinely respects Chang Chia-Chen, which seems to directly oppose what Steven Liu has said about the actress. Chia-Chen and Steven have not discussed the situation since his post, and Brigitte too seems to be keeping mum on the matter.
