Earlier this year, Touch ‘n Go eWallet implemented the TapSecure feature into its security policies. Rather than using the usual SMS OTP, users have been using the new one-tap approval feature to authenticate transactions more securely from their primary device.
It’s now been reported that the eWallet will be changing, or rather tightening, its security features to ensure that users will get their money back in the event of unauthorised purchases. Here’s what you need to know:

Touch ‘n Go eWallet has updated its Money-Back Guarantee policy. In case you don’t know, the Money-Back Guarantee is where users can make full compensation within 5 working days if their TnG eWallet is being charged with unauthorised purchases or reload. In the event of these things happening, the company can refund the user a maximum of RM5,000.
According to China Press, users must now activate their TapSecure feature in order to be protected under the Money-Back Guarantee policy. When the user is making a transaction, they will need to tap on the verification notification to accept or deny the transaction.
It’s also worth mentioning that if users have provided the login information of Touch ‘n Go eWallet to others, resulting in the theft of Touch ‘n Go eWallet deposits, they will not be able to enjoy the compensation of the Money-Back Guarantee. This new measure will come into effect this 11th September.

For your information, each Touch ‘n Go eWallet account can only link the TapSecure feature on one mobile device so if you were to switch devices, don’t worry, you can still activate the TapSecure feature by following these simple steps:
- Open the eWallet app on your new device.
- The app will prompt you to update and link your account to the new device.
- Alternatively, you can go to Settings and select “Link To This Device” to proceed.
You can also follow the instructions to reset your PIN number if you were to have forgotten it. For more information on these features and updates, be sure to go to visit the official website.
