Malaysia’s diesel subsidy programme has entered a new phase, with eligible Malaysians now able to access subsidised diesel at RM2.10 per litre through the government’s BUDI MADANI initiative.
Following its rollout in Peninsular Malaysia on 27 June and Sabah, Sarawak, and Labuan on 1 July 2026, BUDI Diesel is now available at participating petrol stations nationwide, offering a simpler way for eligible users to manage their monthly fuel needs.
Under the programme, qualified Malaysians can purchase diesel at the subsided rate of RM2.10 per litre, with quotes refreshed every month. The initiative is part of the government’s targeted subsidy approach, ensuring fuel assistance reaches those who qualify while making the claiming process more accessible through digital platforms.
For those looking to skip the hassle of physical documents at the pump, TNG eWallet offers an integrated way to access both BUDI Diesel and BUDI95 support. Users do not need to switch apps depending on their preferred petrol station, while verification and payment can be completed digitally.

How To Use TNG eWallet For BUDI Diesel
Before heading to the station, users are encouraged to complete their eKYC verification in the TNG eWallet app to prevent delays during the payment process. Once verified, users can follow three simple steps:
Open TNG eWallet for BUDI Diesel
Tap “BUDI MADANI” on the home screen or search for it through the app’s search bar. Select the participating petrol station to begin.
Activate Your Pump
At most stations, users can show the QR code generated in the app at the counter, where the attendant will scan it to activate the pump. No MyKad, cash or physical card is required.
Select fuel type, pump, and amount
Choose between RON95 or Diesel, select the pump number and enter the preferred amount before making payment. Users can enter a higher amount if needed, as any unused balance will be refunded instantly once the tank is full.
PETRONAS stations can be accessed directly through Setel, which is integrated within TNG eWallet. This allows users to activate the pump directly from the app without visiting the counter.

What Malaysians Need To Know Before Filling Up
To enjoy a smoother experience, users should ensure their eKYC verification is completed, turn on location services so the app can detect nearby participating petrol stations, and check their subsidy eligibility before heading out.
Alongside BUDI Diesel, eligible Malaysians can also access BUDI95, which offers subsidised RON95 petrol at RM1.99 per litre.
With digital tools making the process more seamless, BUDI MADANI aims to simplify access to fuel subsidies while giving Malaysians a more convenient way to claim support at stations nationwide.
