Families that have gone through a divorce aren’t always peaceful. Sometimes, there will be friction between the parents, especially if the split wasn’t amiable. However, that apparently isn’t the case for former celebrity couple Cecilia Cheung (张柏芝) and Nicholas Tse (谢霆锋).
Cecilia and Nicholas tied the knot in 2006 before divorcing in 2011. The former couple had two kids together, Lucas and Quintus. Cecilia’s third child, Marcus was born much later in 2018. Although it has been years since their divorce, Cecilia reportedly still sees Nicholas as her children’s father, much to netizens’ surprise.
The 42-year-old actress is as always, busy. In fact, Cecilia has appeared on various variety shows, including “让生活更好 (Make Life Better)”. During the show, she was asked about her children and if her son would join her in the entertainment industry.
“If (he) really wants to be in the entertainment industry, (and be) better than me or his dad, I will support him 100%,” she reportedly responded. However, netizens weren’t fixated on her answer. Instead, many were simply fascinated that she had referred to Nicholas as her sons’ father. Several praised her reply, commenting that it was “very decent”. Others stated that she was a good mother and was good at educating her children.
Their surprise is understandable as Cecilia has rarely mentioned her former husband. However, it is well-known that Nicholas still visits his children. Still, it’s apparent that the actress bears no ill will towards her ex-husband and cares greatly for their children.
