If you’re someone who frequents Ipoh for food trips or weekend getaways, you may be adding a shopping destination to your pitstops soon.
It was announced over the weekend that Perak will be opening its first ever premium outlet store in Batu Gajah named Silverlake Brands Village. It’s only a 30-minute drive from Ipoh to Batu Gajah.
As per Bernama, the Perak state government has confirmed that Silverlake Brands Village, which first started constructions in 2017, is expected to launch by the end of 2020. So what can shoppers expect? There will be approximately 150 retail stores, an extensive food court, and 20 bazaar-type retail units to explore.
“The construction of the premium outlet is expected to be completed by the end of this year and it will certainly provide a new shopping experience for the people,” Perak Mentri Besar Datuk Seri Ahmad Faizal Azumu was quoted as saying. Visitors will also get to enjoy the scenic view and sunset as it is built along the banks of a lake.
In case you’re wondering what’s progress like so far, an Ipoh Facebook page uploaded some construction photos the other day. Take a look:
Silverlake Brands Village will also be a convenient hotspot as the premium outlet will be connected to Batu Gajah train station.
