M Sugu, one half of YouTube couple “Sugu Pavithra” is clearing the air regarding the controversy that they demanded a whopping payment of up to RM10k to make an appearance on a one-hour long cooking show.
The issue came to light after an unknown individual, who claimed to be working for a broadcasting company, took to Instagram Story to point out their disbelief at the couple’s alleged jaw-dropping price.
In response to that, Sugu told Astro Gempak, “At the moment, we have been receiving a lot of requests from people for interviews as well as offering us to do cooking programmes. To tell you the truth, we don’t have any management team to handle the matter. We’ve been managing everything by ourselves.”
“Furthermore, our schedules are already packed. We don’t have enough to commit to everything and juggle our family. Because they kept pushing us to do that, I decided to come up with the mentioned amount. If possible, we don’t want to appear on any TV shows,” clarified the former estate worker.
Sugu further added that he and his wife prefer to focus on coming up with better contents on their YouTube page instead. “We have to produce videos for our channel every day. Because of that, we don’t have enough time for any TV appearances,” the 29-year-old said in the chat.
The person who approached the YouTube couple later defended herself that she had every right to complain about the client on her own personal IG account. Many netizens criticised @anim.ezati for being ignorant and unethical for publicising the issue when the discussion with Sugu Pavithra was supposed to be a private matter.
