Now that “Arthdal Chronicles” (아스달 연대기) has just aired its last and final episode on tvN and Netflix, fans are already looking forward for more.
As you may know the K-drama was divided into 3 parts (6 episodes each) – “Part 1: Children of Prophecy”, “Part 2: Turning Sky, Rising Ground”, and “Part 3: Arth, The Prelude to All Legends”. Now what?

Many viewers felt that the finale of “Part 3: Arth, The Prelude to All Legends” had an open-ending conclusion that never really tied the plots together. This suggests that there is still quite a bit of story left in “Arthdal Chronicles”.
After the 18th and final episode, the message “the legend of Arth will continue again” was plastered on the screen. Fans complained that they were waiting for a bigger confrontation that never took place. Instead, a 2-minute animated short video was released – showing an epic battle scene between the main characters.
So either this is a preview for season 2 or them telling us sorry we didn’t have time to finish the story so here is an animated video to help you imagine the ending better lol #ArthdalChronicles pic.twitter.com/tsffcdBzOa

Whether a season 2 is guaranteed or not is still up for debate. But an insider has released a statement saying, “From its inception, ‘Arthdal Chronicles’ was planned out as a drama with many seasons. The staff would definitely like to move forward with a 2nd season. The end credits clip in episode 18 reflected that desire.”
“However, a second season is not possible just with the desire of the staff, there must also be support from viewers. We will look over various factors and make a final decision soon. We will do our best so that we can move ahead with a second season,” the source added.

In conjunction with the season finale, the main cast of Song Joong Ki, Jang Dong Gun, Kim Ji Won, and Kim Ok Bin took some time to reflect on their roles and thank viewers for their support throughout the duration of the show.
Jang Dong Gun on playing Ta Gon: “The character Ta Gon was very different from the roles I’ve taken so far, so there were many difficulties, but I did my best to work hard. It’s hard to believe that ‘Arthdal Chronicles’ is over. It was an honour to participate in a great work with good people, and I had a great time.”
Song Joong Ki on portraying both Saya and Eun Seom: “Although there were some difficulties in playing a double role for the first time, it was fun. I was greedier than ever because the vast and deep story was so fascinating.”
Kim Ji Won, who played Tanya, said: “It feels surreal (that the drama has come to an end) when I remember the many hours that we spent filming with ups and downs for more than eight months. It was a great honour to work with great actors, writers, and director. Just as characters change as they learn over time, ‘Arthdal Chronicles’ was a drama that gave me new experiences and lessons. I want to thank the viewers for waiting so long and for being with us.”
Kim Ok Bin reflected on her experience on set, sharing, “I was very attached to all of the staff, including the director, writers, and actors. We worked hard together, so it feels both sad and bittersweet that I won’t be able to see them anymore. I really want to say thank you to the viewers for their support and love over a long period of time.”
