K-pop boy band Wanna One is set to disband by the end of this year. The group’s agency Swing Entertainment has confirmed the news in a statement.
“December 31, 2018 is the date that Wanna One’s contract is scheduled to end. During the period after the contract expires, we will wrap up Wanna One’s official activities such as award ceremonies as previously planned and end with the January concert,” read the official statement.

“We want to thank the 11 members of Wanna One, who have showed everyone the best of themselves for the past year and a half, from August 2017 to now.”
“We also sincerely thank the fans domestic and worldwide who have loved Wanna One and ask for your support and congratulations for the members as they wrap up their promotions and begin their new journeys,” said the statement as obtained by Soompi.

Shortly after confirming their disbandment, Wanna One has dropped the teaser poster for their farewell concert, “Therefore” which is scheduled for 4 days straight from January 24-27 at the Gocheok Sky Dome in Seoul.
Throughout January 2019, Wanna One will be attending various year-end ceremonies as a full group, before their final concerts.
