When the next snow falls, who will he take?
Universal Pictures has released the trailer for its upcoming crime thriller, “The Snowman”. Helmed by Swedish director Tomas Alfredson (of “Let the Right One In” fame), the film stars Michael Fassbender, Rebecca Ferguson, Charlotte Gainsbourg, Val Kilmer, and J.K. Simmons.
Based on Norwegian writer Jo Nesbo’s best-selling novel of the same name, “The Snowman” follows elite crime squad detective Harry Hole (played by Michael Fassbender) who investigates the disappearance of a victim on the first snow of winter. He fears an elusive serial killer, who calls himself the Snowman Killer, may be active again. With the help of a brilliant recruit (played by Rebecca Ferguson), the cop must connect decades-old cold cases to the brutal new one if he hopes to outwit this unthinkable evil before the next snowfall.
The chilling trailer (above) starts off with the Snowman kidnapping his first victim. While the police managed to find her body, her head is no where to be seen. The Snowman sends Fassbender and his partner clues of his next moves, but is he fast enough to catch the killer?
“The only thing we know for sure is that he’s playing games with us,” says Fassbender in the clip.
“The Snowman” is slated for release on 20th October.
