BIGBANG (빅뱅) member Seungri (real name Lee Seung-hyun; 이승현) is coming to Kuala Lumpur for the grand opening of YG Republique’s first outlet in Malaysia.
The YG Entertainment-owned eatery will serve up F&B in true blue Korean style at TREC Kuala Lumpur as YG Republique makes its opening debut in Malaysia in the capital city of Kuala Lumpur with 2 of its famous F&B brands, 3Geori Butcher’s aka Samgeori Butcher’s (삼거리 푸줏간), and K Pub, Malaysia’s bonafide and first fully-themed K-Pop bar.
For those of you who are not in the know, YG Foods, owned by South Korean entertainment juggernaut YG Entertainment, is a food and restaurant company led by Miss Noh Hee Young, Chief Executive Officer of YG Foods, Korea’s famous food and lifestyle celebrity. YG Republique Kuala Lumpur is under the care of its managing director, Miss Sainy Chun, a well-known figure in the Kuala Lumpur dining scene whose resume includes 2OX (a chic French bistro bar) and Maison Francaise (a French fine dining restaurant).

Occupying 2 units at Hive, this integrated venue will see 3Geori Butcher’s and K Pub bring everyone’s favourite Seoul bar and eatery experience with its trendy and vibrant spirit. Staying true to its flagship in Korea, YG’s Korean chef Ji Byung Kwon of its famous venue in Hongdae lends his culinary expertise, leading the kitchen at YG Republique in KL for 6 months. The new Kuala Lumpur branch offers a mouthwatering selection of Korean BBQ (only premium meats!) and ala carte, as well as an eyecandy range of signature cocktails and popular drinks.
Some facts about YG Republique at TREC Kuala Lumpur:
- Over 4,000 sq ft venue at TREC’s Hive block, with both indoor and alfresco seatings.
- Comprises K Pub and 3Geori Butcher’s.
- K Pub accommodates 100 pax Malaysia’s bonafide and first K-Popcentric bar.
- 3Geori Butcher’s seats 96 diners, with a space inspired by an old Korean-style butcher’s shop.
- Will serve up a full menu, set meals and lite bites, plus a range of alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages.

YG Republique Kuala Lumpur’s opening on 11th August 2017 will be accompanied by the exclusive artistes’ appearances!
Among them is BIGBANG member Seungri. The 26-year-old K-Pop idol and entrepreneur is one of the 3 vocalists in BIGBANG, and also the “maknae” (youngest member) of the group. Other artistes scheduled to make a special appearance are Natural High Record (Seungri-founded record label) DJs Glory, TPA, and Danu. More names and a full programme will be announced closer to the opening on 11th August 2017.
