Hype’s Now Playing: Highlight – Calling You

“Now I’m calling you, calling you. Even though you don’t answer, just like your ringtone which is still the same, I still feel the same for you.”

Highlight has dropped their music video for “Calling You”, the title track off their 1st repackaged album. It was released at 6pm KST (5pm Malaysian time) on 29th May (Monday).

The repackaged album, which is also titled “Calling You”, contains a total of 7 songs. 2 of the songs – “Sleep Tight” and the title track – are new songs. The rest are tracks from their 1st mini album, which are “Plz Don’t Be Sad (얼굴 찌푸리지 말아요)”, “It’s Still Beautiful (아름답다)”, “The Beginning (시작)”, “Dangerous (위험해)”, and “CAN YOU FEEL IT?”.

Unlike their previous title track “Plz Don’t Be Sad”, the current one is more emotional and melancholic. It details the emotions of someone who is struggling to forget his ex and calls her every time he’s drunk.

In Junhyung’s own words, “It’s about a man getting drunk and calling his ex-girlfriend.” Although he composed and wrote the song, the rapper jokingly assured fans that the song is not based on his own experience.

The music video portrays all of the Highlight members in different roles – with Gikwang as a football player, Dujun as well as Junhyung as white-collar workers, and Yoseob as well as Dongwoon as students. However, they all have one thing in common – the boys are all hung over their exes and attempts to call them when they’re drunk.

The members made their debut as Highlight on 20th March after leaving their previous label Cube Entertainment. They formed their independent label Around US Entertainment and dropped the track “Plz Don’t Be Sad“.
