Having just announced a new toll structure back in October 2015, the New Pantai Expressway (NPE) is throwing yet another major announcement into the mix. Don’t worry, it’s not another toll hike – at least not yet.
The 19.6km-long highway, which connects Bangsar to Sunway, will implement the electronic toll collection (ETC) system in about a week.
This is part of an initiative to facilitate faster transactions at 3 toll plazas on the NPE – the Pantai Dalam, PJS 5, and PJS 2 Toll Plaza. It is also in line with what was implemented for several other major highways and toll plazas back in September 2015.
As such, all toll transactions on the NPE will be conducted electronically via Touch ‘n Go cards or SmartTAGs starting 13th January 2016. Like the other toll plazas, top up service is available at the NPE toll booths. Motorists can also top up their MyKad which have the Touch ’n Go features.
