Anne Hathaway surprised her Instagram fans and friends today by posting a shot of herself proudly showing off her baby bump.
The photo shows the 33-year-old Oscar-winning actress in a 2-piece red bikini posing by the beach while cradling her stomach with a joyous smile on her face.
“Happy 2016 to my beautiful Instafriends! So, posting a bikini pic is a little out of character for me, but just now while I was at the beach I noticed I was being photographed,” the actress captioned.
“I figure if this kind of photo is going to be out in the world it should at least be an image that makes me happy (and be one that was taken with my consent. And with a filter),” she continued.
Anne concluded her message by wishing her readers “love, light and blessings for the year ahead!”
The candid photo marks the first time Anne has publicly acknowledged her pregnancy.
We first took notice of Anne’s pregnancy when she was in her second trimester back in November last year. It will be the first child for both Anne and her husband of 3 years, Adam Shulman.
“Anne can’t wait to be a mum. She feels she’s achieved so much already, it’s time to take a break from acting and concentrate on being a full-time mum,” a source told Closer magazine recently.
