Is there anything Jay Chou (周杰伦) can’t do?
Not only is he a talented singer-songwriter and actor, he is now the proud producer of an upcoming Chinese film, titled “10,000 Miles”. This marks his first attempt at producing a movie.
In a press conference in Beijing, the Taiwanese pop star told the press that it took him 3 years to produce the film and that it was inspired by co-producer Kevin Lin’s experiences as a marathon runner.
“Finding the right cast, including the director and the lead stars, was my main task. I also worked alongside the script supervisor in ensuring that the script didn’t stray away from the story it was adapting,” he said.
Helmed by Simon Hung, “10,000 Miles” stars Megan Lai, “Our Times” actor Darren Wang, and Sean Huang. The film revolves around a young man named Kevin, who is a runner from a rough neighbourhood. He falls in love with Ellie, his tough coach. When Ellie becomes sick and distant, Kevin fights to conquer the famous 10,000 Miles Silk Road Ultramarathon in order to win her heart.
The “Now You See Me 2” actor also shared his Hollywood dream. “My ambition right now is to direct a Hollywood movie, which I would also star in as the main lead,” he added.
