“Deadpool” was a surprise hit for both critics and fans alike when it opened in theatres earlier this year. The movie not only set a new record for R-rated films but also for the “X-Men” franchise. A sequel was obviously a no brainer.
While details on the development of “Deadpool 2” has been kept under wraps, the Merc with a Mouth was kind enough to key us in on the introduction of a new character during the 1st instalment’s post credits scene: Deadpool’s time-traveling friend, Cable.
Now it appears that 20th Century Fox may have found its Cable in “Bloodline” and “Friday Night Lights” actor Kyle Chandler, while Mackenzie Davis (from “The Martian”) is being eyed to take on the role of Cable’s love interest, Domino. This latest information comes courtesy of Mashable’s latest episode on “Meet the Movie Press”.
In case you didn’t know, Cable, who appeared on Marvel’s “New Mutants #98”, is the son of Scott Summers (Cyclops) and Madelyne Pryor (a clone of Jean Grey). Although this piece of history most probably won’t be brought up in “Deadpool 2”, we’re stoked to see Deadpool’s relationship with Cable and Domino unfold.
This casting announcement has also inspired talented graphic artist Boss Logic to come up with 2 fan arts of the potential actors in their respective character costumes.

Some of you may also remember his previous mock-ups of comic book characters, including Anna Kendrick as Squirrel Girl and the successfully predicted Brie Larson as Captain Marvel.
As of now, Ryan Reynolds is the only confirmed cast member returning to reprise his role as Merc with the Mouth, Wade Wilson. Time will tell if Chandler and Davis will be the ones bringing the duo to life on the big screen.
