Training for “Star Wars: Episode VIII” is in progress.
When we last saw Rey at the end of “Star Wars: The Force Awakens”, our young hero was on her way to become an all-powerful badass Jedi. Under the guidance of legendary Jedi Luke Skywalker, Daisy Ridley would need to ensure that she’s in top physical shape. The actress recently shared a video, showing off her Jedi lightsaber-wielding skills.
In the short clip, Ridley is seen holding a staff in place of a sword. She twirls it around a couple of times before performing an apparent counter to fend off an unseen opponent. Many fans have commented that the action moves seem to lend themselves to lightsaber scenes.
Wearing a black top with her hair tied back, the “Star Wars” star ends the fun session with a jump move. In the caption, Ridley explains that she has been taking lessons from the hugely talented stunt performer Liang Yang, who she describes as a “Wushu fricking master”.

According to Daily Mail, Yang is a trained acrobat and martial artist born in China, but is now based in London and has worked on several blockbusters. He also appeared as the First Order Stormtrooper FN-2199 who yelled the infamous “Traitor!” line at John Boyega’s Finn in last year’s “The Force Awakens”.
No doubt this kick-ass training will also come in handy if Ridley lands the role as the new Lara Croft in the upcoming “Tomb Raider” reboot.
“Star Wars: Episode VIII” doesn’t have a secondary title yet, but the film is slated to be released on 15th December 2017.
