What’s up suckaz? 😉
In case you missed it, TJ Rozdilsky aka TJR, the wonder boy who topped the Beatport charts at the overall number #1 spot, first with “Funky Vodka” in 2012 and then again in 2013 with smash hit “What’s Up Suckaz” is making his way back to Kuala Lumpur this July! Known for his certified multi-platinum hit “Don’t Stop The Party” featuring Pitbull, TJR is dubbed the master of the summer anther for always creating fun-loving, bouncy, dance-floor rocking tracks.
TJR, who was last here in 2013, will be making his way back to sunny Kuala Lumpur this July for a show at Gravity Club KL. Thanks to our buddies at Gravity KL, we caught up with TJR about everything from golfing to eggs, to gearing up for his gig here in Kuala Lumpur.
Hey TJ! Are you excited to be coming back to KL? And what do you think about playing at Gravity KL?
I am definitely jacked to be back, it’s been a while. The people in KL are amazing to perform for, I love their energy! I am very excited to make Gravity KL bounce!
What can fans expect from your set at Gravity KL?
Tons of energy and fun tunes.
You left your career as a professional golfer to be a DJ. What led to that decision? Do you still play golf?
I was a DJ for a long time and after about 10 years in, I got the bug to produce and 5 or so years ago I had to make the decision to either give music 110% or keep it as a hobby. That being said, I quit my corporate job and moved to LA and the rest is history. I love golf and I play every chance I get. Not as much as I’d like since touring and making music takes up quite a bit of my time these days.
What are you currently working on – originals/collaborations?
I am currently focusing on originals. Expect a lot of new tunes very soon!
Do you prefer producing or performing live and why?
It’s hard to say I prefer one over the other. Both appeal to 2 different sides of me. Producing fulfills my love for delving into an idea and really tweaking things to get what’s in my head out. DJ-ing fulfils my love for instant gratification. I love the energy and connection I feel when playing and connecting with the fans
How do you kick back and relax once the party is over?
When I can find the time, golf.
Last one, if you could eat only thing for the rest of your life, what would it be?
TJR will be hitting up Gravity Club KL on July 23rd. More information about the event here.
