Feig, who is reuniting with “Bridesmaids” stars Melissa McCarthy and Kristen Wiig through this reboot, has been dropping a slew of behind-the-scenes photos on his official Twitter account. The filming is currently underway in New York City and some curious fans couldn’t help but wonder who exactly they’re gonna call if they were to ask the new team of ghostbusters to exterminate evil spirits.
Well, wonder no more. The ladies’ characters names have finally been revealed!

Feig tweeted the names after being asked to reveal the characters by a Ghostbusters fan account.
Though he didn’t reveal which character each actress is going to portray, fans have been able to identify their names through some set photos that had glimpses of the nametags on their new uniforms.
Their character names are as follows:
- Melissa McCarthy as Abby Yates
- with Kristin Wiig as Erin Gilbert
- Kate McKinnon as Jillian Holtzmann
- Leslie Jones as Patty Tolan
Since this is a reboot, these characters won’t have the exact same traits as the original “Ghosbusters” team namely Peter Venkman (played by Bill Murray), Ray Stantz (played by Dan Aykroyd), Egon Spenger (played by Harold Ramis), and Winston Zeddemore (played by Ernie Hudson).
In other news, “Thor” star Chris Hemsworth joined the cast as a receptionist called Kevin while Neil Casey will play the main antagonist. Andy Garcia will play the Mayor of New York City while Matt Walsh and Michael K. Williams are also joining the film to play “Rourke” and “Hawkins” respectively. Murray, Aykroyd, and New York City’s NY1 news anchor Pat Kiernan are rumoured to be making cameo appearances as well.
The reboot is based on a script written by Feig and Katie Dippold and the film is scheduled for release on 22nd July 2016.
