Disney’s streaming service may not seem like the best place to find romantic comedy, but you’d be mistaken. Disney+ features a sizable library of romance flicks (some with touches of comedy) tucked in among the Marvel blockbusters and classic animated movies.
So, whether you’re in the mood for mushy, comforting rom-coms to binge-watch on a leisurely Sunday afternoon, or tragic love stories that’ll make you howl, Disney+ has a tonne of dope films that deliver.
While You Were Sleeping
Lucy is a Chicago El train token collector who has a crush on a man who doesn’t even know her. Then one day she sees him being mugged and pushed onto the El tracks. She rescues him and goes with him to the hospital, where a nurse overhears her say to herself, “I was going to marry him.” Soon everyone, including Peter’s family, thinks she’s Peter’s fiancé, and Lucy soon finds herself too caught up in the affectionate madness to tell the truth. Even after Peter wakes up, not remembering her but assuming it’s amnesia, and Lucy realizes she actually loves his brother, Jack, she still can’t tell the truth. Will she end up marrying the right brother?
Ever After: A Cinderella Story
Is the Cinderella tale made famous in storybooks told exactly as it happened? Or is there more to it? Wall-E
What if mankind had to leave Earth and somebody forgot to turn the last robot off? After hundreds of years doing what he was built for, WALL-E discovers a new purpose in life when he meets a sleek search robot named EVE. EVE comes to realize that WALL-E has inadvertently stumbled upon the key to the planet’s future, and races back to space to report to the humans. Meanwhile, WALL-E chases EVE across the galaxy and sets into motion one of the most imaginative adventures ever brought to the big screen.
Princess and the Frog

Princess Diaries 2: Royal Engagement
You will remember that she was a typical American teenager whose mother raised her in a converted San Francisco firehouse, where she could slide down the pole every morning. Then a visit from Queen Clarisse of Genovia revealed that she was, in fact, the queen’s granddaughter, and next in line to the throne.
In part 2, this beloved princess is given a deadline of one month to either marry or forfeit her rights to the throne. The evil Viscount Mabrey wants to disqualify her because his nephew Sir Nicholas is next in line to the throne. Desperate for a husband and learning that Queen Clarisse was perfectly happy in an arranged marriage, Mia decides to marry for the love of her country. Along came Andrew Jacoby. Mia accepts his proposal, and tells herself that he’s everything a girl should want in a husband-to-be. But things don’t go to plan.
The Last Song
This movie is a gorgeously shot melodic romance about family, heartbreak, and finding yourself.
A teenage girl is moving against her will from New York to the South to spend the summer with her dad. While there, she struggles to convince her mother to allow her to pursue her music career at Juilliard. After being rejected by her mother, her spirits are lifted once she meets Will, a local aquarium keeper who helps her get settled into her surroundings.
Confession of a Shopaholic
Rebecca Bloomwood has dreams of writing for New York City’s top fashion magazine, and she’s run up a ton of debt buying all the fashion pieces that make her look the part. When Rebecca lands a job as an advice columnist for a financial magazine under the same company as her dream publication, it becomes an overnight success, but her shopping addiction threatens to derail her fledgling career — and romance with her handsome new boss.
Geek Charming
Opposites attract in “Geek Charming,” a sweet Disney Channel original movie starring Sarah Hyland. Hyland plays her school’s queen bee, Dylan, who becomes the subject of film geek Josh’s documentary about popularity. Of course, it doesn’t take long for sparks to fly between the unlikely pair.
Aladdin
Animated or the live-action version – both seem like pretty good stories about love between a royal and a commoner.
In the live-action adaptation of the classic Disney tale, petty thief Aladdin befriends a genie and wishes to become a prince to charm Princess Jasmine. However, dangerous sorcerer Jafar competes with him for Jasmine’s hand in marriage. Aladdin and the genie work together to keep the empire from falling at the hands of Jafar’s greed for power. (P.s. we absolutely loved Will Smith’s role as genie)
Lady and the Tramp
This animated classic will totally give you the feels. It follows a pampered cocker spaniel named Lady (Wilfred Jackson) whose comfortable life slips away once her owners have a baby. When, after some tense circumstances, Lady finds herself on the loose and out on the street, she is befriended and protected by the tough stray mutt Tramp (Hamilton Luske). A romance begins to blossom between the two dogs, but their many differences, along with more drama at Lady’s household, threaten to keep them apart.
Titanic
How could it NOT be on this list?
To Jack, a homeless artist, winning two tickets on the luxury liner was the best thing that ever happened to him. His life, as well as everyone else’s on the ship, would be changed forever. Even before he knew the fate of the Titanic, he was sure what his own destiny was; to meet Rose.
Rose was a troubled young woman living in a rich society, engaged to a millionaire that her mother had sought out. She was living in a fantasy, a fantasy that she didn’t want, and she was looking for a way out. Jack heroically saved Rose’s life and was immediately thrust into her world though no one knew he didn’t fit in. He was the only one that could see the anguish that Rose was in… He was the only one who could get her out of it. Sadly, their love affair would be cut short. Titanic’s crew saw the iceberg too late and they struck it. Well, we all wished it was a happy ending though.
