It’s no secret that Klang Valley is overcrowded with malls. Unfortunately, many don’t see as much success as others. One of those “dead” malls is the Space U8 Mall in Shah Alam – but recently, the mall’s management shared some good news about its future.
The Space U8 Mall in Shah Alam had previously gone viral after a visitor showed off the unexciting state of the mall. The mall once boasted several small stores within its building, but only a few tenants remain, including MBO Cinemas. At that time, many netizens hoped that Space U8 would be turned into a more practical space, with most suggesting a sports complex or youth hub.
Fortunately for netizens, it looks like the mall will soon become a sports complex. Recently, a Twitter user shared a look into the current state of the Space U8 Mall, which shows significant improvement. The most noticeable change would be the two sports courts, which occupy the previously barren space in the centre court.
The new change has netizens excited, voicing their support for the new Space U8. Many hope this new direction will bring more traffic to the mall. Some also praised the mall’s management for the clever and sustainable use of the space. Others continue sharing their suggestions for what other sports facilities the mall should add to attract more visitors.
In addition to the new renovations, Space U8’s social media pages have also started getting active again. Besides sharing videos of the progress of the renovations, the mall also posted videos introducing some of the businesses in the building and highlighting ongoing events.
It’s great that the space is finally being utilised to its full potential. We wish the best for Space U8 in their renovations and hope this will bring positive changes to the mall.
