Although we are often advised to forgive and forget, it’s apparently a monumental task for many. For instance, take a look at Chinese artist Diamond Zhang Bichen (张碧晨) and Hua Chenyu (华晨宇)’s fans. They’re still arguing over Bichen and Chenyu’s relationship arrangement!
Bichen and Chenyu announced that they had a child out of wedlock in January 2021. Yet, their fans are still feuding over it till today. The recent Father’s Day celebration sparked a new round of accusations with some claiming Bichen had a surrogate pregnancy. This caused her friend to release photos proving otherwise.
The former couple’s arrangement has been a sore spot for many. The duo initially resolved the issue on their own, claiming they would raise the child together, but not as a married couple. However, netizens still lashed out at the duo, with some going after Bichen on her birthday. Although it’s been more than a year since their shocking announcement, netizens opened the can of worms again on Father’s Day.
An argument sprang up when some fans wished Chenyu a “Happy Father’s Day”, in light of his child. However, others argued that it was inappropriate, claiming they should mind their own business. Well, the ire spilled over to Bichen with some netizens targeting her pregnancy in particular.
They claimed it was odd that Bichen hadn’t shown any signs of being pregnant in November 2018, although her child was born in February 2019. This brought up the question of whether she had gotten a surrogate mother. Some went as far as to mock her, saying she was a “miracle” and calling her a “slut”.
However, it seems they went too far, according to Bichen’s friend. Bichen’s friend, who is also the deputy general manager of Huayi Music made a post yesterday to combat the rumours. They were very upset that Bichen’s past was coming back to haunt her although it was long over. “It’s absurd to think that a mother would one day need to prove that she has given birth through a pregnancy photo,” they remarked.
According to them, Bichen’s child had been born prematurely. To prove it, they uploaded photos of Bichen during her pregnancy. One showed her lying with a distended belly in the hospital bed. Another showed her posing with her new born child. “(I) personally greeted this little angel who was only 33 weeks old,” the friend said. “(They) couldn’t wait to come into this world with a birth weight of only 1.76kg.”
Netizens are now wondering when the feud will end. Some have expressed confusion towards Chenyu’s fans, claiming the slander and rumours were over the top. Others simply feel all the arguing is unnecessary.
Neither Bichen nor Chenyu have remarked on the matter. It seems that the only ones who truly care about this are the fans. Well, hopefully they will let the issue go soon. After all, it seems the former lovers already have.
