If it worked for another famous artist, why not try it? It looks like Zayn Malik has pulled a Taylor Swift ahead of his upcoming album release.
This past weekend, fans were shock to find out that the former One Direction member had purge his Instagram of all previous photos and videos – wiping his account clean. Fans immediately suspected that he was up to something.
Last month, both Malik and Gigi Hadid released heartfelt statements on their social media accounts announcing their break up. Since then, the half British-half Pakistani star has been posting quite a number of moody selfies of his new tattoo and hairstyle. So why delete everything all of a sudden?
Perhaps it’s the shock factor?
Last year, Tay Tay deleted everything from her Instagram and Twitter feed to make way for new music, evidently her “Reputation” record. It looks like the 25-year-old singer is now following the same pattern by wiping his slate clean. After teasing fans, Malik released a snippet yesterday (Sunday, 8th April) – confirming that new music is indeed dropping very soon.

The 15-second clip was simply captioned, “04.12.18.” We presume the pop star will be dropping his new single and music video this Thursday.
