Using specifically designed fitness goals, Jatomi Fitness has only one aim – to revolutionize the health and fitness industry in Malaysia and to give their customers what they want.

So when their 17,000 sq. ft. Tropicana City Mall branch launched yesterday, gym enthusiasts and work out freaks were only too anxious to check out what Jatomi Fitness was all about!

Built around the philosophy, “Love the Feeling“, the people behind it are determined to make fitness fun again whilst being affordable to all (30% cheaper on average), without compromising on “tools”. Jatomi Fitness incorporates state-of-the-art equipment throughout that are available in Malaysia for the first time.

Namely, the high-tech Curve treadmills.

The Curve is a slate-belt treadmill that is entirely person-powered with a curved design that engages more muscle groups and therefore, achieves a superior workout. Sounds totally unfamiliar to you? Doubting it? Well, we’ll have you know this. It is used in astronaut training by NASA and it help users burn up to 30% more calories than conventional treadmills.

Oh, also, no other gyms in Malaysia can offer this.

And yes, Jatomi Fitness has other awesome equipment e.g. beefed up Technogym treadmills that come complete with touch screens, allowing its “runners” to do some Facebook stalking, tweet stuff, or view YouTube videos while working out.

Did we already say, “awesome equipment”?:

If that’s not impressive enough, the gym’s innovation also extends beyond just the equipment. It encompasses workouts organized in short sessions of 15, 30, and 45 minutes to cater for the time-constrained. They also have their own set of health offerings such as their functional Jatomi programming:

  • MINDfit: Designed to get you started on the right path and stay motivated so you don’t drop out but rather drop that old body.
  • EATfit: A 10-week EATfit programme monitored by Jatomi Fitness Coaches, online food logs, and a meal planner.
  • MOVEfit: Jatomi’s completely free programme that puts every muscle to work, with four new workouts every week.

By appealing to people who are new to exercise with simple programmes and innovative club design, Jatomi Fitness is focused on expanding the exercising population to achieve penetration levels such as those found in Europe and the USA (between 12% to 20%).  The launch of Jatomi Fitness in Tropicana City Mall marks the first in a series of four Jatomi Fitness health clubs set to open in Malaysia in 2012.

Membership prices are as follows:

  • Nomad: RM160
  • Jatomi Smart: RM150
  • Jatomi Choice: RM195

*Start up fee is RM100
