Good news, DC fans! The release date for “Wonder Woman 2” has been set.

The sequel to this year’s superhero flick is set to hit cinemas on 13th December 2019, with Gal Gadot reprising her role as Diana of Themyscira. However, talks with Patty Jenkins to return as director are still ongoing.

“Wonder Woman” is this summer’s biggest hit and it has grossed over USD389 million at the American box office to date. It recently passed Marvel’s “Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2” starring Chris Pratt and Zoe Saldana.

While Jenkins’ participation as director has yet to be confirmed, she is developing the script with Geoff Johns. She previously told Entertainment Weekly that the sequel will take place in the modern age. “The story will take place in the U.S., which I think is right. She’s Wonder Woman. She’s got to come to America. It’s time,” she commented.

Besides that, it was also reported that “Wonder Woman 2” will be taking place in the 1980s during the final days of the Cold War and Chris Pine, who signed a multi-picture deal when he joined the DC Extended Universe (DCEU), is rumoured to return.

Can’t wait to see Gal Gadot in action as Wonder Woman again? Fret not, because she’ll be kicking ass alongside Ben Affleck’s Batman, Jason Momoa’s Aquaman, Ezra Miller’s The Flash, and Ray Fisher’s Cyborg in “Justice League” on 17th November 2017.
