Divorce is never easy, and many stars have shown distress after separating from their partners. In 2022, Hong Kong-born actor Mark Cheng (郑浩南) was left distraught after his divorce from Malaysian Ailyn Pow (鲍爱玲) – but it seems the star is now ready to move on.

In a recent interview with a media outlet, Mark opened up about his relationship with his ex-wife, though showing indifference for his former partner. When asked about Ailyn, the actor jokingly pretended not to know the name, saying, “Who? I don’t even remember this person”. He later said, “There’s no point in remembering her. It’s better to remember other positive things. Our memories shouldn’t be used to remember useless things that take up precious space”.

Mark and Ailyn met in 1999 when the celeb was in Kuala Lumpur for a film shoot, and the two later married in 2002. The pair separated in 2022 after almost 20 years of marriage. Unfortunately, Mark never shared what actually happened between the two that led to the end of their relationship. However, the 60-year-old said that he’s now doing his best to maintain a good relationship with the rest of his family, particularly his daughter. He added that he’s now helping his daughter to prepare to further her studies in Canada.

In the same interview, Mark also talked about his other relationships, including his first marriage to Japanese actress Yukari Ōshima (大島ゆかり), who he co-starred alongside in the 1990 Hong Kong movie, “Midnight Angel (午夜天使)”. He revealed that the two were married for four years but divorced because they couldn’t spend time together due to their busy schedules. When asked whether the pair had to deal with language barriers, the “Young & Dangerous” star revealed that he’s fluent in Japanese and even had other Japanese girlfriends.

Regardless of his current relationship status, we hope Mark is happy. Perhaps now he can focus on finding companionship with family and friends instead.
