It was a scary moment for pop singer Rihanna. Earlier today (Monday, 9th March 2026, MYT), news outlets reported that authorities have arrested a woman for firing multiple shots at the singer’s home in Beverly Hills, with the singer inside.
According to reports, the incident occurred on Sunday (8th March 2026, US time), at around 1.20pm PST. The suspect had fired seven to ten shots from an AR-15-style semi-automatic rifle towards Rihanna’s home in the Beverly Crest section of the affluent Los Angeles neighbourhood. One round even penetrated a wall of the home’s exterior.
The “Diamonds” singer was reportedly at home during the incident. Thankfully, a representative for the Los Angeles Police Department confirmed that Rihanna and those in the house during the incident were unharmed. However, it’s unclear whether her partner, ASAP Rocky and their three children were also home at the time of the shooting.
The authorities have arrested a woman in her thirties for suspected involvement in the incident. Reports say the suspect fired the shots from her car, a white Tesla, while she was across the street from the house. The woman is now in police custody, and authorities are investigating a motive for the shooting.
Rihanna and ASAP Rocky haven’t spoken up about the incident. Nevertheless, fans are expressing concern for the celebrity couple and their family following the shooting. Many called for the pair to tighten their security, fearing that a similar case could happen again. Some also worry that their young children may be victims if such attacks continue.
There are also concerns that celebrities’ homes in LA are becoming easy targets for attacks because of how tourist sites publicise their addresses. While there is no motive for the shooting, netizens speculate that the suspect has malicious intent.
